Getting started
Do I need a referral?+
No — you can book directly with us. If you have a GP, we are happy to keep them informed with your consent.
Will I definitely be prescribed medication?+
No. Suitability is decided in a live consultation with a Consultant Endocrinologist — never by a form alone.
What is BMI and why does it matter?+
BMI is your weight in relation to your height. It is a useful starting point for a conversation about treatment, but it is not a diagnosis and it does not describe your health on its own. Your consultant will consider it alongside your medical history and any weight-related conditions.
How do I book?+
You can book, move or cancel online at any time through our booking system, or send us a message through the contact page.
Video consultations
Can I be seen in person?+
Our UK service runs entirely by secure video — you see a Consultant Endocrinologist from wherever suits you, with your prescription sent to a pharmacy of your choosing.
How do video consultations work?+
Your consultation is a secure, live video call with one of our Consultant Endocrinologists, from wherever suits you in the UK. If treatment is right for you, an electronic prescription goes to the pharmacy you nominate.
Treatment
Do you advertise or sell these medicines?+
No. UK law prevents prescription-only medicines being advertised to the public. Our treatment pages are informational — they explain how each medicine works, the evidence and typical pharmacy costs — and nothing is recommended until a consultant has assessed you.
Which treatments do you offer?+
Our consultants prescribe the modern GLP-1-based treatments where clinically appropriate — see the treatment pages for Mounjaro, Wegovy and Oral Wegovy — alongside specialist dietetic, psychology and exercise support.
Can I get treatment on the NHS?+
NHS access to weight-loss medication is currently limited and varies by area. Our service is private, following a consultation with a Consultant Endocrinologist.
What about side effects?+
Your doctor goes through risks and benefits before any decision, and you can raise anything at any review. Suspected side effects can be reported to us and through the MHRA Yellow Card scheme.
Fees
What does a consultation cost?+
Consultations are by video — the first is 30 minutes, follow-ups 15 — with a three-month review (one video consultation plus two email reviews) once you are on a stable dose. Every fee is published in full on our fees and prices page.
Do you sell medication?+
No — we are independent of dispensing. Your prescription goes to any UK pharmacy you choose.
Are there subscriptions or hidden charges?+
No — fees are published and fixed, and medication is never bundled in.
Support
What dietetic support do you offer?+
A specialist dietitian works alongside the doctors, with initial and follow-up appointments you can book at any weight. A clinical psychologist and an exercise therapist are also available. Prices for all of them are on our fees and prices page.
What is the AmaraHealth app?+
The tracking app included with your programme at no extra cost — a food diary with barcode scanning, weight trend, activity, sleep, water and mood, syncing with Apple Watch and most fitness trackers.
How often will I be reviewed?+
At every dose change, with email reviews available on a stable dose — and a consultation with your doctor at least every three months.
