Wegovy
Weekly weight loss treatment from consultant doctors
Wegovy (active ingredient semaglutide) is a weekly subcutaneous injection used as part of a medical weight management programme.
It is a GLP‑1 receptor agonist, designed to help control appetite and slow stomach emptying. When combined with lifestyle changes, patients may lose up to 15% of their body weight over 12–18 months.

Indicative prices for Wegovy
We believe patients should have a clear idea of the likely cost of treatment. As The Weight Loss Medics does not dispense medication directly, the prices below are provided as an indication of typical pharmacy costs rather than fixed prices.
Pricing may vary according to dose, availability, and the pharmacy selected. The figures shown were accurate to the best of our knowledge on 3 March 2026, but may change at any time.
These guide prices are intended to help you understand likely ongoing treatment costs. They should not be directly compared with heavily discounted introductory offers from some online pharmacies or clinics, where the first month may appear cheaper but later prescriptions can cost substantially more. A fair comparison should take account of the longer-term cost of treatment, not simply the initial advertised price.
If treatment is recommended following your consultation, your doctor will discuss the most appropriate option for you and explain the expected prescription pathway and likely medication costs.

Helps you feel full sooner and stay satisfied longer.
Slows digestion

Wegovy FAQs
What happens if I miss a dose?
Follow your doctor’s advice. In most cases, you can take it within a few days, then return to your regular schedule.
Can I stop treatment once I reach my target weight?
Yes, though stopping suddenly may increase the risk of weight regain. A doctor will guide you.
What support is available alongside medication?
We offer dietitian advice, email reviews, and regular video follow‑ups to help you stay on track.
Is it safe if I have other health conditions?
Suitability depends on your medical history. This will be reviewed thoroughly in your consultation.
Will I definitely be prescribed Wegovy?
No. Medication is only prescribed if safe and clinically appropriate after consultation.
How soon will I notice results?
Some patients notice changes within weeks, but most results build gradually over months.
Is diet and exercise still important?
Yes. Wegovy is most effective when combined with lifestyle changes.
Is Wegovy available on the NHS?
It has been approved for NHS use in some cases, but availability is limited. Our service provides private access following consultation.
